Clive has more than 20 years’ experience in assurance of safety-critical systems and products. He has a background in system engineering in the rail, aviation, defense, communications and public sectors. His work has included independent safety assessment, safety management systems review, and safety and project risk assessment.

His most recent experience is focused in the rail sector, where he has worked for a wide variety of both metro and mainline operators and suppliers in Europe, Asia and America.

Clive is passionate about providing insightful yet pragmatic client solutions and prides himself on his attention to detail while still offering a “helicopter view”. He currently also holds the role of contract reviewer for the Arthur D. Little UK business.

Clive is a chartered engineer, member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, and member of the Safety and Reliability Society.

Outside of work, Clive enjoys spending time with his wife and young children, as well as keeping fit (cycling, running and karate, in which Clive holds the shodan rank).

In this Viewpoint, we share ways to utilize such technology to the greater benefit.
