Samir Imran

Samir is Partner in the Dubai office and is a seasoned strategy advisor to Ministers, CEOs and business leaders across multiple sectors including Travel & Transport and Sports working in a broad range of topics including innovation, investment strategy, and operating model. He is also an advisor to Boards on topics around Governance and Board Affairs.

Samir heads ADL’s Future of Cities platform and is lead author of the ADL Autonomous Mobility Journal. Through his work and publications, he has positioned ADL as a leader around topics related to the Future of Cities, presenting at a range of global conferences.

Samir is a core member of ADL Middle East’s Travel and Transport  practice. He is passionate about re-imagining the future and building national ecosystems. He advised a sovereign wealth fund on the strategy for a national champion to drive KSA’s future of mobility ecosystem, and worked with a mobility investment fund on an acquisition strategy for next-gen mobility technology. He also designed and shaped a futuristic smart city strategy for one of the region’s landmark mega projects.

Samir has advised leading sovereign wealth funds and investor groups on the full life cycles of projects, from strategy development and feasibility through to operation/exit, and helped identify and develop JV opportunities with global partners.  

Prior to joining ADL, Samir spent 12 years in Toronto, London and Stockholm, providing strategic advisory services to blue-chip clients in both the private and public sectors. He has a real interest in the entrepreneurial space. He worked for a tech startup in Canada, developing applications for optimizing network management and performance.

He is passionate about charity work, an avid golfer, and a collector of contemporary art. He lives in Dubai with his wife, Zareen, and two sons, Zayd and Zidan.
