Efforts increase to improve sustainability

The article looks at how ‘big name’ buildings, such as the Empire State Building in New York, are being overhauled to reduce their environmental impact. Davide is quoted as saying that Arthur D. Little believes the “best time for companies to consider improving the environmental impact of their facilities is when they are already planning a major investment into building refurbishment or expansion” and that they “estimate the cost of adding a sustainability element to a major capital investment at 5 to 20 per cent of the total cost.”
